Rdio Overhauls UI, Improves Music Discovery - mcnultyshosselame
Not to be overshadowed by Spotify and Turntable.FM, music streaming service Rdio has gotten a serious user interface overhaul. The update, open now, has easier music sharing, smoother music discovery, and is much interactive.
New and Better
The new Rdio interface is a big change from the early, relatively placid interface. Here are the important inside information:
– You commode now reorganize your music in playlists exploitation drag-and-drop. You can also trail and expend your music onto other multitude's playlists.
– You can now oscillate over an album to see which of your friends (if any) have listened to it.
– You can now quickly bring smooth albums to playlists, instead of painstakingly hurtling them song away birdcall.
– You can instantly see what your friends are hearing to by glancing at the sidebar.
– You can now see all of your playlists, friends, and music choices along one page.
Rdio seems to birth assumed some cues from Apple's iTunes, which puts all of the information you need onto one page.
Competition Hot on the Trail
Rdio's UI update is sound, but it's also been a great week for the competition.
Today at SXSW, on the loose music curation table service Turntable.FM announced that it has finally pinned down a deal with the four major music groups–Universal, Sony, Warner, and EMI.
Spotify also declared its own upcoming family plans this calendar week at SXSW. The company didn't offer any inside information on the plans, merely secure The Verge that said details are on the way. Spotify, a cyclosis music servicing, has been available in Europe for years but only just made its elbow room to the Suprasegmental States in 2011.
